Tony Jacobsen Adaptive Fitness Feature in Audacity Magazine

I’ve got some exciting news to share. I was recently featured in Audacity Magazine, and I couldn’t be more honored. The article dives into my journey with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (O.I.) and how I’ve built a life around adaptive fitness, coaching, and spreading the #UNBREAKABLE message.

This feature is about more than me—it’s about proving that movement is possible for everyone, no matter what challenges you face.

Living With O.I. and Finding My Strength

Growing up with O.I., also known as brittle bone disease, wasn’t easy. By the time I was a young adult, I had already broken my bones over 70 times. Doctors, teachers, and even well-meaning family often told me to “be careful” or to avoid certain activities.

For years, I thought that movement and exercise weren’t for me. I figured staying safe meant staying still. But the truth is, sitting still made me weaker. It wasn’t until later in life that I discovered how powerful movement could be.

In the article, I share how I shifted my mindset. Instead of being afraid of what might happen, I learned to train my body the right way—with adaptive fitness. Once I started moving with intention and building strength, everything changed. I felt stronger, more confident, and healthier than I ever thought possible.

The #UNBREAKABLE Message

A big part of the feature is about my #UNBREAKABLE message. For me, being #UNBREAKABLE doesn’t mean never struggling. It means showing up for yourself every day, even when things feel tough.

When I created the #UNBREAKABLE brand, it was about sending a simple but powerful message: you’re not limited by your diagnosis, your past, or what people think you can’t do. You’re stronger than that.

Through my books, speaking, and coaching, I’ve made it my mission to share this idea with as many people as possible. Fitness isn’t about perfection or competition—it’s about finding what works for your body and your life, and building from there.

Coaching and Community

In the article, I also talk about my work as an Adaptive Fitness Specialist. Coaching is where my passion really comes alive.

I run the Stronger Bones Coaching Group, where people come together online to learn how to move safely, build strength, and feel more confident in their bodies. Every Monday, I lead my Energy Elevator class—a live workout that can be done seated or standing. It’s a place where everyone, no matter their ability level, can feel included and supported.

What I love most about this community is the connection. People who thought fitness wasn’t for them are now moving, smiling, and realizing they’re capable of so much more. That’s what adaptive fitness is all about.

Why This Feature Matters

Getting featured in Audacity Magazine means a lot to me. They shine a light on people who live boldly, and I’m proud to be part of that.

Too often, people with disabilities or health conditions are told what they can’t do. This article helps break that mindset wide open. It shows that fitness, health, and strength are possible no matter where you’re starting from.

For me, it’s another chance to spread the message that you don’t have to sit on the sidelines. You can take charge of your health, build strength, and feel good in your body—your way.
