That was my bone density T-Score back in 2015.
Diagnosed with Osteoporosis and Osteopenia on top of my lifelong brittle bone disease, I was 44 years old and had just gone through a major physical transformation. I was healthier than ever, yet my DEXA scan told a different story: my bone density was still dangerously low.
The doctors’ recommendation? Medications. Bisphosphonates, drugs used to slow down bone loss. They work well for Osteoporosis and Osteopenia, but when it comes to Osteogenesis Imperfecta (O.I.), the research is still sparse, especially on long-term effects.
But I had just transformed my body naturally through exercise, nutrition, and a focused mindset, and I was determined to stay on that path. Meds were off the table.
And I’m so glad I made that choice because today, the results speak for themselves.
