[UPDATE: Thursday, April 14th – see bottom of post for CALL FOR VIDEO SUBMISSIONS!]

Join DJ Tony J. (The #UNBREAKABLE Mixshow) on Saturday, April 30th for the virtual “O.I. Can Dance” fundraiser to kickoff O.I. Awareness Week 2022!

The O.I. Can Dance will be an epic 5-hour open-format DJ set and virtual dance party sprinkled with facts about Osteogenesis Imperfecta – and a few surprises along the way!

“Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) is a genetic bone disorder characterized by fragile bones that break easily. It is also known as ‘brittle bone disease.’ Osteogenesis imperfecta literally means ‘bone that is imperfectly made from the beginning of life.’ A person is born with OI, and is affected throughout his or her lifetime.” (

Each year, the first week of May is dedicated to spreading the awareness, gaining the acceptance, and sharing the awesomeness that is O.I. There is also a special day, known as Wishbone Day that is on May 6th each year as a day of celebration for O.I. and O.I.ers around the world!

DJ Tony J., who has Osteogenesis Imperfecta Type 1, said, “I’ve been a professional DJ since the 90’s and I’ve been an active member of my O.I. community for the past 8 years, so I wanted to combine these two in the most powerful way possible! I’ve always wanted to host a fundraiser that was fueled by music so this was the perfect fit! My main goal was to present and host something that could be attended no matter where you are in the world, and given everything that has happened over the past couple years, it’s a natural fit and everyone understands how a virtual or online event works now. I started two years ago and it’s only getting bigger and better; this year is no exception! I can’t wait to share Osteogenesis Imperfecta with the world during this party!”

Tony’s work within the O.I. community came about after going through a personal physical transformation where he embraced his Osteogenesis Imperfecta to discover ways to exercise and get healthier with it. He subsequently wrote a book to document his journey and help others do the same. After which he started the #OILife movement, which is focused on providing unique and powerful resources for the O.I. community.

All proceeds from this fundraiser will go to a variety of organizations that provide resources for the O.I. community around the world!

Your contribution and support goes a long way is greatly appreciate by me and the entire O.I. community! Thank you!

A quick intro to everything Tony...

Tony is the author of Disable Your Disability, a book about learning how to live the healthy life you deserve despite your physical limitations. He was born with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (brittle bones) and has endured 70+ fractures throughout his life. At the ripe young age of 42, he had to embrace his disability to save his life, so against all odds, pushed himself through an 8-month physical transformation that ended up being just as important mentally and emotionally.

Tony also loves music. He’s been an emcee and DJ since the mid-80’s and has DJ’d professionally since 1996 (and continues to do so!). He’s created and released independent hip hop music, and found most of his success when he and his wife, Teemaree, released 3 albums as Dynamite Jive in the early 2000’s.

In addition to all this, Tony has worked professionally in the television/film industry since 2001, and created his own company, Egg Sandwich Media, to work as a one-man-production-band; wearing the hat of Producer all the way to Video Editor.

He currently lives in Detroit, MI with his wife and they enjoy their empty-nester life in the desert.
